As part of the Joint Master’s Program in Political Science – Integration and Governance (PoSIG), students attended a series of lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Natasha Gaber-Damjanovska (Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research, UKIM).
The lectures focused on “Political System and European Integration of North Macedonia” and “Civil Society and Fundamental Rights: Freedom of Assembly, Freedom of Association, and Freedom of Expression.” Through a comparative and practice-oriented approach, students explored the evolution of North Macedonia’s political system, the country’s European integration trajectory, and the role of democratic institutions, political parties, and civil society organizations in the accession process.
Participants examined the EU institutional framework, accession requirements, and the political and socioeconomic implications of European integration for candidate countries. The sessions also addressed the protection of fundamental rights, democratic governance, and the challenges and opportunities facing small states in an evolving international environment.
The lectures concluded with an interactive discussion, where students engaged in comparative analysis of political rights, party systems, and EU integration processes, fostering critical thinking and cross-national perspectives in political science education.
