GIPA organized an Open Door Day combined with a public discussion entitled “The Global Anti-Democratic Counter-Wave: A Critical Challenge for Political Science Education.” The event introduced the Joint MA Programme in Political Science – Integration and Governance (PoSIG) while fostering discussion on the evolving role of political science education in addressing contemporary global challenges.
The programme featured presentations by Anano Gorgodze, JoPScip Project Coordinator, Prof. Bakur Kvashilava, Dean of the GIPA School of Law and Politics and PoSIG Academic Coordinator, and Prof. Giorgi Margvelashvili, the fourth President of Georgia and PoSIG professor. The speakers discussed current global democratic developments and presented PoSIG as an innovative, internationally oriented master’s programme built on European quality standards, academic mobility, and interdisciplinary approaches to governance.
The event attracted prospective students and participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, providing an opportunity to learn about the programme’s structure, admission process, and study opportunities. Widely promoted through social media, the Open Door Day significantly enhanced the visibility of both the JoPScip project and the PoSIG programme, contributing to outreach and student recruitment efforts in Georgia.
