As part of the Joint MA Program in Political Science (JOPSCIP), a three-day Virtual Educational Space (VES) workshop was held from December 10 to 12, 2024, at Yerevan State University (YSU). The event was organized under Package 1 of the project and focused on strengthening the digital teaching and learning capacities of partner institutions.
The workshop was hosted by YSU in collaboration with Eurasia International University (EIU) and coordinated by Work Package 5 (WP5) partners: the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) and Tbilisi State University (TSU).
The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize academic and administrative staff with tools and instruments for developing and managing Virtual Educational Spaces. Training sessions covered technical and pedagogical aspects of digital learning, including:
- Interface navigation and data input in the VES
- Management of courses, professors, and student access
- Use of filters for academic data analysis
- Integration of assessment forms in Moodle (e.g., quizzes, essays, forums)
- Utilization of third-party platforms such as Zoom, Turnitin, and Google Meet
- Open access publishing and internship databases
- Simulation exercises on designing subject modules and course databases
The event brought together over 25 participants, including faculty members, IT specialists, quality assurance staff, and project coordinators from YSU, EIU, and partner universities in Georgia, North Macedonia, and Austria.
Through hands-on sessions and collaborative activities, the workshop contributed to building a shared understanding of how digital platforms can enhance teaching effectiveness, course delivery, and cross-border academic cooperation. The knowledge gained during the training will be applied in the ongoing development of the JOPSCIP virtual learning components and joint curriculum.
